Iowa City Dances of Universal Peace

Dear Friends,

Our Dance group will meet this Sunday, one more time before our summer break. We will be back in our usual meeting space in the RE Commons. Details are below. I hope to see you there.

We will take July and August off. If you are interested in dancing during those months, we could arrange to travel to Des Moines to dance with Morgan’s group there. Please let me know if you are interested.

Dear Friends,

It’s that time again–time to dance. We will meet this Sunday to celebrate the coming Passover/Easter season. This Sunday we will meet in the Fellowship Hall which is across from the Sanctuary, in the room with all the tables and chairs. We will need to move some furniture in order to dance, but that shouldn’t be a big chore. Hope to see you there.

Dear Friends,

Winter has arrived for real!  I hope you are staying safe and warm, wherever you are.  In spite of the weather outside, we will gather Sunday to celebrate peace and our connections to each other.

Remember that this Sunday only we will begin at 5:00 due to a conflict in the church schedule.  You may wish to attend the concert in the church sanctuary from 3:00-5:00.  The Family Folk Machine, will be performing a fundraiser for the local Veterans for Peace Chapter.  (More information at this link  http://familyfolkmachine.org/1059-2/)  We will begin the Dances as soon as the concert is finished.

Dear Friends,

If you are like me, this Sunday came up rather quickly on the calendar.  I just woke up to the fact that I hadn’t sent out an announcement yet about dancing this week.  I do hope your plans include joining us!

This Sunday will probably be our last at the East Side Recycling Center.  At this point I have not set the schedule for Dances going forward.  I am waiting to see how it goes with our move to the new UU church building and what space will be available for us.  I hope our plans will be finalized in the next couple of months.  In the meantime, please stay tuned.

You can help with this transition, and I would greatly appreciate your doing so!  The church will hold an Open House on October 29, from 2-5 p.m.  I invite any of you who wish to see the new space to attend and check out the rooms you think might work for us  to dance in.  It will be fun to see what we all come up with.

Looking forward to seeing many of you on Sunday.
